STATE LEVEL TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING

CM APPEALS TRADE & INDUSTRY PEPOLE TO COME FORWARD AND HELP GOVERNMENT IN PROVIDING GOOD GOVERNANCE

Jaipur, February 8. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has appealed to the people associate with trade and industry sectors to help the government and play their role in accomplishing the goal of providing good governance. He asked the trade and industry sectors to come forward and provide their views on tax payment, reducing price rise and other important issues.

Shri Gehlot was addressing the concluding session of the state level Tax Advisory Committee meeting at Chief Ministers Office on Monday. He said that active role and cooperation of trade and industry sector is important in providing sensitive, transparent and responsible administration.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working with the spirit of taking decisions for the benefit of the state. He asked the office bearers of various organizations of trade & industry, institutions, tax-payers and other people to play role in creating positive atmosphere in the state.

Shri Gehlot said that the state government is taking decisions to which could create atmosphere for more & more investment in the state. It will bring down unemployment, and bring betterment of the life-standard and per-capita income of people.

Discussing the single-window Act to be brought in the state the Shri Gehlot said the government is working minutely over regarding this so that it could be more meaningful and useful.

Shri Gehlot said that to keep continue the trust of tax-payers the government had incorporated valuable suggestions given by representatives of trade & industry sector in last year's meeting. He assured that the government will try to incorporate the suggestions provided this year also.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is focusing on solidity of the basic infrastructure in the state. He said in his last term as Chief Minister 1750 MW electricity was produced in the state which was highest in the country. He said that during previous government's term the electricity production was not increased which resulted in power crisis and the current government had to take tough decision of 100 percent power cut for industrial units. Regretting for it Shri Gehlot said not only Rajasthan but all northern India was facing the crisis of power due to irregular monsoon in Kharif season. The demand increased and the government had to take decision for power cut in cities, he said.

Outlining the water problem and increasing dark zone in the state Shri Gehlot said it is a matter of concern and the state government is doing all efforts regarding this.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is trying to keep the annual plan as good as possible and no stone would be left unturned for it, he said.

The Industry Minister Shri Rajendra Pareek said that the coming time would be important for the progress of trade & industry sector.

Principal Secretary Finance Shri C. K. Mathew, Principal Secretary, Industry Shri Sunil Arora and representatives of various organizations associated with trade & industry sector were present in the meeting.
